Feldenkrais in goooal

In a Feldenkrais lesson you make differentiated movements with your body and give yourself time to perceive what often gets submerged in everyday life. Your own body perception and awareness in movement stimulates the brain. The goal is to create new neural pathways that enable optimal movement patterns and functions.

This ability of the brain to change and learn itself is called “neuroplasticity”. With Feldenkrais you use this ability of the brain and learn to move better. You experience the improvement of your balance, breathing, coordination, flexibility, cognition and change your view of the world.

Your body will reorganise itself and create a good base for other forms of movement and training. Feldenkrais itself is not training and therefore not a substitute for it. It complements what you already do and gives you the opportunity to do what you are used to differently and better.

“An action becomes beautiful when we do nothing but the action itself. Everything we exaggerate or suppress in it destroys the harmony.”

Moshé Feldenkrais

The Feldenkrais Method was a great discovery for me. It gave me a completely different approach to body awareness compared to what I knew from dance, yoga and other forms of movement. With time I also noticed the depth and width into other areas of life that this method brings with it.

I completed my training with Elizabeth Behringer in 2016. Since then I have continued my education with Nancy Aberle (working with children) Mia Segal, Jeff Haller, Angelika Feldmann.
